Unfortunately, the COVID pandemic has made it impossible for us to conduct our traditional Love to Read activities. However, we are continuing to celebrate literacy, and a love of reading through various activities in individual buildings.  Here are a few for 2021.

    • Mary Endres Elementary School
Mary Endres will celebrate National Read Across America Day – celebrated every year on March 2nd, which is also the birthday of American author Dr. Seuss. This is a day dedicated to encouraging children and young people to read, and motivating parents and teachers to help them do so.  Residents from The Fountains in Crystal Lake will join some classrooms via Zoom to read stories to the students.

    • Prairiewood Elementary School
At Prairiewood, the week of March 1 has been designated to celebrate reading with an emphasis on a different genre for each day of the week:
      • March 1 - Fairy Tale
      • March 2 - Biography
      • March 3 - Mystery
      • March 4 - Science Fiction
      • March 5 - Fantasy
